You should add a link in the users profile to this forum, I only found it by accident :-)
I agree with Volker. There is no way to find this forum. I simply guessed at the URL and stumbled on it.
I cannot create a new post, I tried to show my G1 but nothing happens :-(
thanks for your great page and designs! BTW where are the links for the Goodman Axis? I wanted to try to print them
Where do I find documentation on what the differences between the zone and one cameras are?
Takuro, there is no “detailed” documentation. The Zone has fewer parts and a simplified assembly. For the One you will need to purchase a Mamiya lens, and also deal with many functional and light leak issues to get it working. The only real advantage of the One that I can see is that you only have to spend money on a lens and the hardware to get it working.
For the zone you will need to purchase a lens and also purchase a Mamiya RB67 back. This increases the overall cost of the camera, but it will be easier to put together and much more light Tight and functional from the get go.
I have assembled the One and detail the process of getting it fully working on my blog:
https://diyphotography.home.blog/category/goodman-one/
If if you are willing to spend a little more to avoid dealing with functional issues and light leaks then the Zone would be a better camera to get you shooting quickly. It shoots 6x7 photos.
The One, if you can get it working shoots 6x9 photos so that is another advantage. I wanted to “build” a camera as a challenge for 2019 so I am completing the Goodman One, but I feel the back really needs a redesign before most people will want to build it.
@devinnamaky Thank you so much, I’ve been searching all over for some sort of assembly instructions for the Zone and stumbled upon the forum. Your One instructions should help out a lot
@devinnamaky Thank you Devin for the detailed explaination and your blog posts are great information. Are you getting good prints from it?

I haven’t built the Zone but it looks like you would print the body, and the retaining ring for the lens. You would rotate the lens into the bayonet mount, then attach the retaining ring with M screws. Then attach the M screws to hold the RB back and that’s it. I haven’t downloaded the files to see if she included a viewfinder. But if she does then mount it on top with M screws also and you’re done.
The One is much more complicated and frustrating at times but if you are really persistent it can be completed.
Zone Build Comments. I am in the middle of a Zone camera build and will say it is a great design with a few exceptions. First off, the bayonet design for the Mamiya Press 23 lens has no positive locking mechanism. The recessions for the bayonet tabs do not have any space to rotate the tabs "into" to keep the lens from being pulled straight out. The retaining ring also has no mechanism to prevent this. I wish I was better at Fusion360 to fix this, as I have some ideas that should work.
Documentation needs to be something that someone takes under their wing and completes, taking into account printing requirements and tips and tricks. My print seems to be about 1.7mm too short for focal length, something I wish I would have checked for before starting the 20 hour print job. Because of the recommended print orientation, the Z axis of the print becomes critical because it is now the focal distance of the lens flange to the film surface. It may be necessary to shim the lens to achieve perfect focus, but then again, the whole concept is to utilize the zone focus method of photography, so this may not be too critical for most.
I have yet to find STL files for the cable release bracket shown in the photos of the Zone camera on the website, does anyone have this? Where could I download it? I may try and incorporate it into the grip, that seems to be an advantageous location if the other file turns out to be unobtainium.
Lenses. Beware the Polaroid 600SE lenses!!! They are not the same as the Mamiya Press 23 lenses. I received one by accident, and it does not fit the Zone body. I wanted to let people know.
I have brass inserts ordered and on the way, I may print another body with a Z correction once I receive a proper lens. Then it is on to figuring out a viewfinder, that seems to be missing from the files as well (I know, I know, work in progress)
I have enjoyed the build so far and am excited for this project to mature and progress in the coming months and years! Great design, and wonderful concept to release it into the wild for people to make themselves and contribute designs and ideas! I hope my comments today help, they are meant as positive contributions. I will make as many visits to the forum as I can!

This system is excellent for beginners, because it's user friendly and simple to understand. Specialists will also go to Fotoworks XL 2 as a clear beloved, simply because it takes only a minute to learn to use and the features are extremely effective. Last although not least, the help is extremely fast.https://giftsmarket.co/
Men's wedding bands happen to be a comparatively current trend, since earlier in history men were the owners of their wives or harems and did not find it essential to wear such symbols of marriage camouflage ring.
Have the polaroid lenses a larger diameter? Maybe an adapter can be build
it seems the lenses are more or less the same. I think the lenght is different... if the Polaroid are shorter , an extension would be easy to make
Hi all; I just found someone who is printing the goodman zone for me. and i have ordered a 100mm mamiya lens and the rb67 back. I hope, end january i will have all parts here on my desk and can start assembling. But...: I did a little research on the net and found several 3d printing projects for photographers. And i feel not very good thinking, that someone else is doing the job and is printing the camera for me. I have extremly few money, but i am thinking about buying one of those diy 3d printers. What do you think about this? Is such a printer (saw one for ~75€) able to print this camera parts? I hope, the software (i think, it will be cura) will make no problems. Hoping for some usefull hints ;) looking forward for your replies... and hope, its not too late, to wish all of you and especially dora a good new year!
This type of message always inspiring and I prefer to read quality content, so happy to find good place to many here in the post, the writing is just great, thanks for the post.

Hi all; it is done (see pic). I am very proud of this build and very thankful to Dora. I've done so far some simple sample shots, and the camera has no light leaks and is working properly. The only thing is the flash sync of the mamiya sekor f3.5 / 100mm (black) lens. Either it fires continously and irregularily or nothing at all. Are here any hints for fixing the sync port? I'
ve done a search on the net, but found nothing according to this problem... Comments welcome ;)
Hi! I'm printing the AXIS, unfortunately there is not that category in the forum. Please, add, if possible.
hey check out the "unofficial" Goodman Discord there are a few of us building a axis right now https://discord.gg/jedtCMk
